The rootsy, more alternative influences give the song extra boost and energy and the strong vocal performance just makes you go along with the song. The catchy hooks and impressive vocals really remind me of their early days, the pre-“Everything You Want” days. It kind of makes me feel nostalgic.īack To You should be the band’s next radio hit. It’s a VH trademark and the band shows they still have it going for them. It’s one of those songs that can just speak to you. The more mysterious Carrying On has such a pretty build-up. Could very well be the comeback single if you ask me. Afterglow is reminiscent of the “Everything You Want” days with its catchy, forthflowing rhythm and strong hooks. On Afterglow we get a glimpse of why this band became such a big hit in the early days of this decade. And the uptempo goodness is far from over. It’s slightly more alternative than we’re used to, but Vertical Horizon is off to a very good start. The melancholic sound, enriched with synth effects and good guitar work leads into the uptempo pop/rock that befits this band. It’s a solid song that provides the perfect intro to the album. And when listening to this track you’ll understand. The opening track, All Is Said And Done was released through the internet a while ago and has been praised by fans. From start to finish, “Burning The Days” is convincing and may well mark the return of this very underrated band. The band has grown into a very mature musical act and knows the tricks of the trade. It sounds very much like Vertical Horizon, yet it brings something new to the table. Things have been tough for the band and the experiences have led to a very strong and complete album in every sense. But now they are back with a brand new album and it has been worth the wait. What happened to them? In the past couple of years it has been pretty quiet around this very talented band.
